Accessible News Slider - JQuery plugin

Accessible News Slider is a JavaScript plugin built for the jQuery library. The plugin does not use color as a primary indicator of a change in state for the slider. Instead, the “back” and “next” navigation is either visible or hidden. There is also an indicator that communicates the total number of news items.

If the user chooses to resize the text via the browser file menu, the slider will flex vertically to accommodate the larger text, and still function. This is primarily a function of the CSS, and it is suggested you maintain a variable font size in order to take advantage of this capability.

The following ZIP download contains all of the necessary files, including a packed version of jQuery v.1.2.6. The plugin file is not packed, but there are several free utilities available for compressing JavaScript source code.

Simple form using Google Docs

Now, using a Google Docs spreadsheet, you can create a simple form, collect responses from your visitors in an online spreadsheet, and publish the results on your website. All this in a few easy steps.

Create a new spreadsheet, build your survey form, and invite users to fill out the form. You can send out an email to people you’d like to fill out the survey (maybe to a mailing list you have), or generate some HTML code that allows you to embed the survey directly on your web page.

Your visitors won’t need to sign in to Google Docs to fill out the form. Responses are automatically added to your spreadsheet, and you can receive notifications by email when submissions occur.

Finally, in your spreadsheet, you can create graphs and charts showing the results, and then publish those charts back on your site as gadgets. As the responses trickle in, the published charts will update automatically.
